Research Question
‘Are the apparent needs of the patients and users of Cleveland Clinic being met?’
‘If not, what needs to be done if these needs are to be met in the future?’
The independent variable here is the needs while the patients are the dependent variables.
Hypothesis
The perceived needs of the patient and users of Cleveland Clinic are being met.
Associative or casual
The Associative hypothesis proposes the relationships between variables. In this case when one variable changes, the other one has to change too. The above hypothesis meets this category since the needs and patients have a relationship which brings forth the outcome.
Simple or complex
In this case, we have a simple hypothesis since it’s only predicting the relationship between a single variable (Needs) and a single dependent variable (Patients and users)
Non-directional vs directional
In this category, our hypothesis is non-directional since it predicts the independent variable (needs) will affect the dependent variable (Patients and users), but the direction of the effect is not specified.
Null vs Research
In our case, this is a research hypothesis since we not interested in any statistical outcome but the relationship that is existing between variables; Needs and patients.
